Richwoods Shootout

Post by deadguy35 » Thu Jun 02, 2016 6:43 pm

The Richwoods Shootout is this weekend. I would love to read reports from anyone who goes about what the area teams look like and if there are any incoming Freshmen that could have an impact at the Varsity level.

Just read Dave Reynolds article and he wrote Washington, Metamora and Notre Dame are no longer in it. Does anyone know why and where they are going?

Thanks for mentioning the article. I also wonder where they are playing?

I didn't realize that Adam Miller would be playing for Manual. Talk about the rich getting richer. It will be interesting to see how much playing time he gets along with the Big Three. I would almost be willing to make the trip to Peoria just to see how he plays. He could be a fairly highly rated recruit for the Class of 2020:

The Big 12 is going to have so much talent next year. In addition to the Manual trio, you have Tim Finke, Chris Payton and Francis Okoro (6'10 Sophomore).

I was told Washington is at Normal West today. It's a one day tournament (16 teams).\\

update: Washington plays wheaton-warrenville south in one semi-final. sterling vs normal hs in the other semi.

It sounds like Adam Miller is the real deal:

Anybody watch any of the Mid Illini teams in the shootout? Any insights to who should be the team to beat this coming basketball season?

I don't know who will be the front runner in the mid Illini. My son told me that Limestone played but didn't look very good. He said at least they had the guts to play. Metamora and Washington didn't play in the shootout this year at all. My son seems to think they only play in the Richwoods shootout when they have good teams.

I don't know how the mid-Illini teams looked, but Manual was the only area team that was in the winner's bracket and they lost in the semi-finals to Springfield Lanphier. Peoria Quest beat Richwoods in the consolation championship game.

I can't speak for Metamora, but Washington was in the Normal West shootout the Friday before Richwoods and played 4 games (lost in the semis).

Both Washington and Metamora went to Lincoln and Washington lost to Bloomington in the championship.

So not sure either doesn't have the "guts" to play at Richwoods.

Washington played last year and made it to the semi-s and lost to MTHS in a 1 possession game basically. Not sure why they played at Normal, but I am sure the gym was air conditioned.

Does anyone know if the Richwoods Shootout is this weekend? If so, what area teams are participating? I can't find any information about it.

Richwoods June 3-4.

Only three I know are Richwoods, Maunual and Rockford Boylan.

I'm glad Metamora is going to be part of this event. It's going to be interesting to see how they do with all of the transfers.

Gotta feel bad for all the homegrown kids that won't get the chance to play ;)

It's also nice to see that Mosley is still at Central.

I've read elsewhere that Adam is going to be in Atlanta this weekend for a basketball camp.

I've read rumors about LaLu, etc. I guess in today's world that is going to happen sometimes.
