But is he still allowed to coach that game from the locker room? I thought that wasn't allowed.
Officials don’t monitor locker rooms.

I'm aware of that. My question goes more to the IHSA reaction when the official or Washington AD brings the article to their attention.

(I almost wrote "the PJStar calls the IHSA for a reaction", but it's local sports news so they won't care)

If it comes to mind I will get an answer for you this week.

Question for you. Why would the Washington AD contact the IHSA?

Why complain to IHSA about another team’s coach? Apparently Washington and Quincy have a good relationship as this is the third (at least) year in a row they’ve played.

Edit: Humor?

Still think there’s no need for a complaint to the IHSA.

His wife is an Executive Assistant Director at IHSA. And yes no reason for Washington to complain about a halftime talk. Likely happens every game a coach gets ejected to the locker room

I know. Susie did a very good job running IHSA state tennis tournament. Then she went somewhere else and it dropped off a bit. Not sure if she runs tennis again now that she’s back.

Morton has a shootout on Saturday, with Tremont and DeeMack both playing . Not sure of their opponents. Morton plays the nightcap. A good chance to see local talent at one sight.

From what I could find online, it looks like Dee-Mack is playing Okaw Valley and Tremont is playing Mt. Pulaski. The host Potters are facing Geneseo.

Pekin loses again (four in row) as Metamora wins easily tonight by ten. Redbirds have a really good team this year. Both teams have one loss in league play but they are heading in different directions. As I said in earlier post, the Dragons have not played well for a three weeks now. They struggled in all four games at the Christmas tournament. The team seems to have one really bad quarter in every game and can't score. Against Washington at the tourney, Pekin had first quarter lead and then didn't score a single point in the second quarter. Against Chatham-Glenwood (a pretty good team) last week they led at the half but then scored like 4 points in third quarter. Tonight the Dragons led 11-6 after first but were outscored 14-1 in the second quarter. I don't know what the answer is but the team sure goes through some really long ice cold shooting streaks. I think more was expected by this senior laden bunch who returned the top seven of eight players from last years 17 win team. The Dragons play Notre Dame next and that will be a loss which will give team five game losing streak. After 8-1 start the team is going south really fast. Hopefully the coaching staff can fix some things and get the team back on a winning track...

Morton was leading East Peoria 37-21 late in 3rd quarter. Morton wins 50-48 with a basket at the buzzer.

One thing I don't like is that Pekin had to take a break this weekend because of Limestone playing in the Metamora tournament. As I understand it, Pekin allowed Limestone to switch their game with Pekin to next Saturday so the Rockets could be in the Metamora tourney. The problem is that first, Pekin now has to play back to back conference games on the road next weekend (Friday-Saturday). It's not always easy to win on the road but now Pekin must travel on two straight nights. Secondly, Pekin, after a little slump, has played very well in their last three games (all three blow outs) and the team seem to be clicking on offense and defense. But now comes a ten day layoff...that's hard to suddenly stop playing for ten days in the middle of the season. I guess the good new is that an injured player might be able to rest and come back (don't know of any injured players at this time. Maybe the ten days will give the whole team a rest and energy for second half of season. Or the team could be rusty after ten days and play poorly Friday night. Hopefully none of this matters and Pekin plays well next weekend...we'll see.
