Here we go again with the 2019-2020 girls basketball season. It looks like another strong year for Morton as they return 4 starters from state championship team. They have really stepped up their schedule this year with some tough opponents.
What are some of the other strong teams in the area that could challenge Morton?

No one, but then I haven’t heard much from the B/N schools. Lady Potters have a nice freshman team coming in.

Bloomington is the only school in 3A......Normal Community and Normal West are in 4A and UHigh has dropped to 2A. Shouldn't be much of a challenge...NCHS is the only team they play during season.

You can’t ever count out Richwoods to put up a good fight against Morton. The Knights return six of their top nine. These two meet at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 in the Morton Thanksgiving Tournament. Richwoods won this meeting, 64-61 in 2OT last year before losing the other two meetings.

What is the commute time between Lewistown and Morton? Just wondering.

I don't think they will challenge Morton as a team but Washington has a very nice freshman player in Claire McDougall. She will be something special for them for the next 4 years.
It's easy to have faith in yourself and have discipline when you're a winner, when you're number one. What you've got to have is faith and discipline when you're not yet a winner.

I see Richwoods has lost their first 2 games in southern Illinois. Maybe not as strong this year with Taylor and Johnson gone....what other starters did they lose?
