.No districts do not apply to the sophomore and freshman teams. And if a school wants to field those teams they most certainly can work up a schedule with whom they want.

That's good with the travel schedules. Will be curious of these games most likely being local will start to draw better than some varsity games.

I would imagine that in most cases, teams are going to play the same schools varsity and JV. Only in extreme travel cases would they not. We've had districts here in Iowa for a while and we almost always play the same schools varsity and JV. Generally speaking, if the travel is around two hours--which doesn't happen very often--we try to find someone closer to play in underclass games.

a couple of good points there---only allow FB schools to vote and co-op schools only get a single vote. it seems to me that if a do-over vote were held under those conditions it would be easier to live with the outcome

However, there is a formal challenge which could delay implementation. Found that out Saturday night at State Tourney.

Don't know anything about that (but assume I'll hear more later), but anything that delays Districts is a good thing.

From a very reliable hometown source that used to work in Washington athletics years ago?

Proposed 4A-7A Districts for 2021:

Manual would be in the same district as Rochester and QND.

East St. Louis is going to be doing a lot of traveling.

how does this work for Lincoln, do you think? Wasn't their move to the Apollo predicated solely on FB? And now that's blown up.

It wasn't predicated solely on that. They weren't gonna be that competitive in the CS8 given where the program was at that point with their numbers. The numbers are getting better and they keep getting closer to finally getting the school's first playoff berth since 1984.

The district they're projected to be in would have both Metamora and SHG along with Limestone, East Peoria, Jerseyville Jersey, and Morton.

I think it was predicated on football. They were just getting slammed in the cs8. Why drive those distances for all other sports, in which you're more or less competitive? As far as hoops goes, yeah, they're playing down there, but to get anywhere in the postseason, they still have to go through the cs8. Now the ihsa says do something different altogether for football. I just think their drive time was a lot less in the cs8. Would like to hear from a Lincoln fan on this. And sh g will own that football group even as their enrollment numbers tumble, imo.
