MIF drama.
As a freshman Miller started every game and averaged 25.4 mpg (4th on team) and got 230 shots (also 4th and just 15 fewer than 4th year guy who gave 4 years of sweat, blood and soul).

Grandison moved into lineup and team went 15-2.
Da’monte averaged 25.0 mpg on season. In the 14 games Da’monte didn’t start (started 3 Ayo missed), he averaged 22.8 mpg. Hardly a difference. I’m pretty sure Da’monte was happy coming off bench and winning.

He’s really raw offensively and hasn’t provided much there but he is a really good athlete and defender.

Yes.
Oddly he’s one of three I think is solid about being back (Curbelo, Grandison and Hawkins).

EDIT: Andre was #11 in high school so he’s probably claiming that from Ayo

Better yesterday or a better team period?
Maybe 'period. Loyola is a better defensive team. Illinois is the better offensive team. I'd say Loyola has the better coaching too. Especially when you figure one team employs Chin Coleman as a 'coach.'
And Orlando Antigua won’t ever be confused for John Wooden.

Cockburn’s amazing progress from the No. 12 center in the country into a 2021 Second Team Consensus All-American is a big reason Payne announced his transfer commitment to Illinois on Saturday, potentially to fill Cockburn's huge shoes.

“[Cockburn’s development] did impact me a lot because I played him in high school, and he was way different from when I played him in high school," Payne told Illini Inquirer. "So I was like, ‘Dang, they really transformed this dude into a whole different person.'

Illini big man coach is Antigua.

Actually I think some posters have referenced Antigua paying players. Doesn’t that make him exactly like Wooden? :P

Great point. Wooden really had that down to a science.

How is Chin doing now that his one $tud is going NBA and his other delivery is tran$ferring out? And his old buddies are on twitter slamming the coaching in the Loyola game?

Chin is doing really well. He’s lead recruiter on 3 guys currently on roster.

Sounds like Wally Szczerbiak was closer to the truth when he said there were chemistry problems after the Big 10 title game...

I heard this story today and also that Miller was apparently upset that, although he started, Curbelo seemed to get the majority of the minutes as the game went on.

Storr is from Kankakee originally but transferred out to Vegas last summer before ending up at a prep school in Arizona.

Storr is a class of '22 recruit who also happens to be teammates with TyTy Washington, a PG in this year's class that Illinois has offered. Washington is seen as a Top 40 prospect in this year's class.

Storr is originally a Rockford guy.
Washington very unlikely an Illini.

Last 4 Illini commits are two 6’5” guards and two 6’7” wings.
Illini also pushing hard for 2021 Bradin Podziemski out of Wisconsin. He’s also a 6’5” guard.
No more small guards for underwood unless they are Curbelo or Dee Brown types.

Edit: Also added transfer Payne from Florida
Most other coveted transfer for Illini is IU’s Franklin
