Re: TAS and Squirrel Re-Construct DI

According to this article UCF is being "pursued" by a Power 5 conference, perhaps the Big XII:

Re: North Fulton to play JV 8-man football only this season (article also mentions Lowpoint-Washburn)

The article also mentioned that Lowpoint-Washburn has also cancelled at least their varsity 8-man season. I just checked the IHSA's schedules and they still show a schedule for L-W. Anyone also know more about this? Is L-W also just playing JV only this year or has football been dropped entirely in ...

North Fulton to play JV 8-man football only this season

Even after switching to 8-man a few years ago, North Fulton (Cuba/Spoon River Valley coop) was only able to get 12 players out for this year's team. So they've decide to switch to a JV schedule at least for this season. Wow but not surprising. https://www.galesburg.com/story/sports/high-school/footb...

Re: Prairieland 2021

Now that the coop with West Prairie is over (and WP is now 8-man), what if anything is BPC doing for football this fall? The IHSA football schedules page doesn't have a schedule listed for the Spartans. Nor are they mentioned in the Prairieland or 8-man schedules. Is BPC dropping football entirely i...

Galva to go 8-man football this fall

WRMJ in Aledo is reporting that Galva will be going 8-man for football starting this fall 2021. No word on what this means for the rest of the Mid-County (ROWVA/Williamsfield) coop--whether they attempt to go on their own or if this means the whole Mid-County coop is going 8-man: https://wrmj.com/wr...

This was announced by Chris Duerr of KHQA-7 Quincy about a month ago, but Macomb has recently accepted a football-only invitation to join the Prairieland for at least next spring's football season only: https://khqa.com/sports/content/spring-rental-macomb-accepts-invitation-to-join-prairieland-for-s...

[quote=nesland300 post_id=1559905 time=1597678485 user_id=26487] Any of those 4 teams are wayyyy to far outside of the region. You would see other teams leave if those were on the table. Look for some of the teams closer to Peoria to go join/merge/work with the LTC. I think the Peoria area teams goi...

Terps aren't in that conference, they're in the Yankee Conference. Crossover "rivalry" with Virginia. Yankee Conference - Army, Navy, PSU, Maryland, Pitt, Temple, UConn, Syracuse, Rutgers, UMass, BC, Buffalo Only way something like that would have happened would have been if Joe Paterno h...

True to NCAA procedure   they still have to apply for the waiver now. https://www.fox5vegas.com/st-thomas-gains-ncaa-approval-for-next-step-in-d1-move/article_89d6b857-9b48-533...

Not that it's going to lead to a possible Ole Miss/Mississippi State expulsion from the league (although could be something to think about), but the SEC is threatening to not hold conference championships in Mississippi unless the state removes the Confederate flag emblem from its state flag: https:...

Rushville& Illini West will stay on for football only. West Hancock will be added for football only. Which will leave Prairieland with 9 teams. Bresquire So "West Central football" in 2021 will only consist of QND and Macomb? Makes sense on R-I and IW's return to the WCC for the other...

Re: 1A-2A Supersectional Matchups

My predictions:

1A:
--Madison
--Aurora Christian (upset special)
--Central A&M
--R-B (but wouldn't be surprised to see Fenger pull the upset)

2A:
--Orr
--Mater Dei
--Timothy Christian (but hopefully Fieldcrest has another upset in them)
--SHG (upset special)

Nuts!! .... nothing really close to my home. :( Yeah. Closest for you would probably be Lewistown, right? Maybe there are a couple closer to you among the 2A sectionals. Ottawa is also similar in distance from Metamora as is Lewistown: Per Google Maps, 55.9 miles from Metamora to L-Town per their r...

Re: 1A Sectional Matchups

Kinda stinks for the three schools in west central Illinois having to go on the other side of Cahokia for a sectional. Travel to Dupo is now further complicated by the 10-month closure of I-255 between I-55/70 and I-64 in the Metro East for a resurfacing project. Effective starting last month. http...

So with the emergence of 8 man football and teams leaving. The look for the Prairieland Conference may change dramatically. Teams for the 2020 season going to 8 man - Peoria Heights, with North Fulton leaving for 8 man last season, that's two gone. Lewistown and South Fulton both having trouble wit...

The only way 6 wins happens is with at least a 4-1 start to the season. Not impossible, but it's up to them to show it. It was only 8 years ago (2011) that Illinois started 6-0 then promptly coughed up the rest of the regular season--their only remaining win coming in that Kraft Macaroni and Cheese...

With Quincy Media (WEEK's owners) part of this new state tournament network, unless it's still early does anyone know which one of the WEEK stations (25.1 NBC, 25.2 ABC, 25.3 CW, and the new 25.4 Ion) will carry the tournament?

Hopefully they will replace the commentators.
Unfortunately, if Quincy Media, who now owns WEEK, is involved in this new statewide network, I'm sure we will still be hearing Lee Hall on the PBP.

The only thing that will get him fired is losses. Especially to Michigan.
And hopefully one of these days, at least a few to Illinois too. Whenever the Illibuck game is played anymore because of the division setup.
