Re: Metamora Hoops News?

With regard to the recruiting conversation consider this: An assistant varsity coach trains young players from other high schools in his HS gym in the off season... the same assistant varsity assistant coaches many of the same players on an AAU team for several years and practices in his HS gym on a...

Re: Metamora Hoops News?

Nice recruiting pipeline emerging in Metamora the last few years. Rental property might be a good investment in the GTH/ Metamora area these days! I guess transfers aren’t ensuring championship though.

Re: Mid Illini rank

Just some clarification on Caleb Kizer the transfer to Metamora... he doesn’t look like a freshman because he is a junior. He was a regular varsity bench player as a sophomore at Linestone last year. He has a younger brother in 8th grade who is 6’5” that still plays Hollis. He’s a real beast and wil...

Re: Local coverage by PJS?

Saturday night two of the three sparse highlights on WEEK were Morton. With all of the games going on in the area 25 found a way to get the Morton girls against the cheese makers in Wisconsin.

Re: Mid Illini 17-18

Re: 2017 ToC

It's a bad call if they weren't causing problem. No reason to think they would cause problems either, was there? It's a public forum, probably don't want to make a habit out of discriminatory behavior toward someone because they are not particularly liked by someone in authority. Regardless of who t...

Re: 2017 ToC

It's hard to respect any of the parties on either side of this drama. The result of a coach left without accountability for too long. Then throw in parents who try to game the system and get mad when they don't get what they think they are owed. It will be interesting to see what happens up north if...

Re: 2017 ToC

Playing against the best teams with some of best players in the country is a good test to see where you are at. Weaknesses will be exposed. Washington and Pekin got an immediate real measure of what needs to improve. Both teams also validated what their strengths are to build on. It's a process. In ...

Washington lost 72-59. Guedet was the leading scorer for Washington with 17 points.

Re: Mid Illini 17-18

Yes, Olden decided to not play soccer and focus on his bball game. It will be very interesting how the coaching change at Morton will play out. As for Washington, the cupboard has been restocked. They are the team to beat again. Olden is a skilled Illinois 3A level player. HM D1 interest.. particul...

Re: Mid Illini 17-18

Where's Hersemann for Washington. Pushed a side by new recruits? If so, it's too bad -- a quality real Washington player.

Re: Mid Illini 17-18

Where does Metamora end up this year? Now they have 2019 Dietz (6'4") and Havens (5'9") -- former Canton/Washington guys -- and 2019 Nelan 6'6"-- former Richwoods/Notre Dame guy. They graduated their high scoring guard last year? And for Canton... they are even worse off than before. Their pretty sk...

Re: Washington Coach Brown

Yes complaining about transfers would definitely be ironic. Some may be moving on down the road to the north..maybe some back to Canton.

Re: Washington Coach Brown

Allegations legit or not this is a horrible situation for Washington that will take years to heal. Guessing there is some level of truth here or it wouldn't have gone this far. It was probably only a matter of time til something blew up considering the real or perceived tension over transfers. Kind ...

Re: Washington Coach Brown

Nothing wrong with players being coached hard, pushed, and held accountable. Dealing with difficult and adverse situations can help develop character, leadership, and confidence. However, there is something wrong if that involves verbal abuse, physical intimidation, and mind games. No one should be ...

Re: The Washington Panthers

No agenda, just a fact that there are no regulations within the IESA bylaws that governs these types of things which may entice recruiting to occur prior to athletes entering to high school to avoid IHSA sanctions.

Re: The Washington Panthers

Havens and Dietz? I was told from relatives in Canton that both families went searching to play elsewhere after Canton 7th graders made it to state. Yes families moved. Both played 8th grade at Washington Middle. Did not transfer directly to H.S. It was after both playing their 7th grade year in Ca...
