Re: NFL-Brees and Big Ben

Rudolph benched for Hodges. Hodges leads team back against Bungles. Steelers are high on Hodges. :joker And the Steelers are in a playoff spot and would choose 20 something right now in the draft. They could then have drafted an injured Tua, maybe, or his backup Hurts. Are they really an upgrade? H...

Re: NFL-Brees and Big Ben

"Steelers are high on Mason Rudolph. He looked good in preseason, winning the backup job from Josh Dobbs. He ran the offense well in the second half against Seattle. The defense (and Moncrief not catching the ball) lost that game for the Steelers, not Ben being out. The defense needs help, and the ...

Re: 2019 Pairings Night Thread

.The board of education for the CPS announced that the CPL schools will be allowed to practice while the strike is on. Ihsa concurs as long as all of their guidelines are met. They now have till Friday afternoon. Caveat, as I understand it, teams must have non-CPS, certified coaches who can oversee...

Re: 2019 Pairings Night Thread

If y'all think the Chicago teachers strike is whack in regards to Football playoffs, go to IHSA ScoreZone and look at all the forfeits so far in Volleyball. Volleyball, golf, tennis and cross-country all decimated. Decimated is not the right word to describe cross country. A few regionals become mo...

Re: Moline must forfeit game to Rock Island

Speaking of eligibility, who determines academic eligibility? I know every school around here is different with standards. I have heard at Metamora and Pekin a player can have two F’s and be eligible to play. Heard this from a teacher who works there. Heard Metamora players can have 2 from a parent...

Re: NFL-Brees and Big Ben

If you don't trade for him, you're putting a new, young QB in a position where he must make up for the deficiencies of the defense and try to win games by himself. Not a good idea. A better defense makes the offense's job easier. Bad defense leads to a struggling new QB who loses whatever confidenc...

Re: NFL-Brees and Big Ben

Steelers made a trade last night as Dolphins continue to tank Makes no sense for Steelers to give up a high first round 2020 pick for a DB when they won't win this year and next year's draft is QB heavy early. Steelers are high on Mason Rudolph. He looked good in preseason, winning the backup job f...

If based on talent and results, I have no problem with it. However, beware pushing an agenda. Danica Patrick got huge publicity and sponsorship with poor results considering the equipment and competitive effort spent. I think to be successful it should be a player who doesn't seek out the limelight...

Re: Dunlap Baseball Coach Search

Coach Hatch is stepping down with the graduation of his son. His daughter runs track, and it makes sense he would want to spend time following her around. There are several good internal options. Coach Hatch has created a strong program through good character, strong fundamentals, and a strong staff.

Heard today that MLB is deeming CJ’s new pitching motion illegal. Any thoughts? IMO it resembles Kershaws.
Looks the same to me. He still gives up runs and hits and can't handle pressure. Why is he still on the team?

Anyone else tired of seeing Kyle Busch race every Saturday and Sunday? Rather boring. Disclaimer: I can't stand Kyle Busch. What I still don't understand is why NASCAR allows established Cup veterans to race the Xfinity and truck races. The prerace coverage today was all about Busch nearing 200 win...

Shaping up to be a well balanced sectional. The seeds so far are playing out. Still shocked PND/Richwoods have to travel to Macomb. Could Iowa please annex Macomb. Anyone that kneels during the National Anthem, or protests it in any manner, or burns the American flag is a P.O.S. So by that standard you don't support free speech and/or peaceful protest, then? What in his statement suggests he doesn't support freedom of speech? He doesn't support that speech, b...

Brady had 2 tds and 3 ints this postseason. Plus 953 passing yards for an average of 318 yards a game. Another great postseason for Brady. Yes he had a good postseason. I think it goes to show you how stupid the "statistic" of QB wins is. That game last night was not won because of Brady. Just like...

Re: Playoffs

This was the Super Bowl the NFL deserved this year. Both teams arrived under dubious ref calls in conference championship games. In the year of the offense, the game was a snorefest and sloppy. In the offseason of young offensive coach hires, the youngest coach ever, known as an offensive genius, pr...
